A Day in Aeternium

Every morning, I, a leoplurudon trainer, wake up at 7am. The usual clothing for my profession is to wear a fibre synthetic suit that protects us from possible injuries from the leoplurodons teeth. It is also waterproof so it’s good for swimming. It’s very similar to the navy uniform of the military. It even includes a head piece which extracts oxygen from the surrounding water to allow people to breathe underwater. Our shoes have to be the Aeternum Ice Walkers which allow us to walk on water. In Aeternum, ice walkers are only for the elite because it needs safety procedures. Therefore my social status as a leoplurodon trainer is quite high. Anyways, I then go to the leoplurudon centre in Northern Aeternum to warm up the leoplurudons for their morning jog. Leoplurudons need to exercise or else they will get fat. Hence, they will be killed for our famous delicacy, the Leoplurdon Ice Cream. Also, if they get cramps on the leoplurudon racing, my huge salary will get reduced.  Usually I get 50,000 Aons per year for being a leoplurodon trainer which is a lot and worth it when your leoplurodon wins the races.

Discovered in the early years of Voxist presence in Aeternum, the Leoplurodon quickly became incorporated into Aeternian culture and daily life. Described as a mix between the Earthen Plesiosaurs and Komodo Dragons, the amphibious Leoplurodon has been confirmed as unique to the ecological haven that is Aeternum. Standing as tall as a horse and much heavier, the Leoplurodon retains the legs of Komodo Dragon, but the tail and general body structure of the Plesiosaur (although with a shorter neck). Originally slower than an average horse, the Leoplurodon made up for this with its naturally hard skin, weight and potential carnivorous ferocity. Unmatched in naval speed, the Leoplurodon soon became the basis of the Aeternian Navy. Eventually bred into two different branches, war and racing, nowadays there are two distinctive breeds of Leoplurodon. Bred for war, Leoplurodons were bred for the increasing solidity of their skin, their power and their natural ferocity. Even today, Leoplurodons are found patrolling the Straits of Merovin and the mountainous borders of the Moril Mountains. However, Leoplurodons have also been bred for speed to incorporate the cultural Leoplurodon racing tradition. Bred for sleekness, speed and agility, the racing Leoplurodons are able to go at 90kph on land and about 160kph in water. In fact, racing Leoplurodons have additionally been used to perform reconnaissance operations due to their natural capacity for speed.

In the job, I keep leoplurudons healthy for trading in our national sport, leoplurdon racing. I take them for a morning exercise all around the perimeter of Aeternum and feed them twice a day. They are carnivorous. Their favourite food is Pigcrableg Barbeque. When the leoplurodon excretes its waste, it is the leoplurodon trainers’ job to collect the excretion. Leoplurodon poo is used to make the soil of Aeternium fertile.

The advantages of being a leoplurodon trainer is that we get free baby leoplurodon spit which is a famous delicacy in Aeternum. Also, the money we trainers get when we sell leoplurodons is a hefty amount since the demand for leoplurodons is rising every second. The military wants them, the chefs want them, children want them, farmers want them, and racers want them.  I would never dare to transfer jobs. It’s the best job available in all Aeternum.

Disadvantages of being a leoplurodon trainer include the job being a hard job if you work for the military and you train war leoplurodons. It’s like having two jobs in one. You have to defend yourself and at the same time be able to tame your leoplurodon, being paid a standard fee. Furthermore, it is more dangerous and harder if you work for racing since you make money only if your leoplurodon wins the races. Leoplurodons also bite since they have quite sharp teeth. Their jaws are as strong as crocodiles’. Although their bites are not poisonous and racing leoplurodons have been bred to be less violent, they can still be dangerous because their tails might knock you out.

Usually at 7pm or any other time, all Aeternians watch the Leoplurudon racing which happens to be our national sport. This exciting biathlon is held on the land and waters of Aeternum to show off the leoplurodons’ ability to run and swim.

Our Specialty: The Leoplurodon Spit Salad

Our Specialty: The Leoplurodon Spit Salad

The leoplurodon spit salad is a mixture of greens from various trees, such as pinegrape trees, cocopear trees, palmpanilla trees and dragonstraw trees. The leoplurudon spit is collected from baby leoplurudons because their spit is the not bitter and it tastes like daffodils.

History of the Leoplurodon Spit Salad

As the refugees were travelling to Aeternum, they encountered a mountain tribe from a neighboring country. According to this tribe’s culture, pinegrape trees, cocopear trees, palmpanilla trees and dragonstraw trees leaves mixed together was very nutritious. The refugees tried growing and eating this mixture of plants. The plants apparently survived anywhere and it also kept the refugees alive. They brought these plants to Aeternum and they discovered baby leoplurodons lurking everywhere when they found Aeternum. They tried to touch these leoplurolons but all the leoplurodons did was spit on these crusaders. One day, while a refugee was about to eat his breakfast which was the salad introduced by the neighboring mountain tribe, a baby leoplurodon spit on his salad. Nonetheless, refugee was very hungry so he tried this unthinkable and unbelievably relishing dish. The Leoplurodon Spit Salad was discovered.

The sea urchin comes from the waters in the north-west of Aeternum, these sea urchins are poached and mixed with the curry sauce made from the spices from the rainbowpolk-a-dotfirebookpen plants.

Leoplurodon Fat Ice Cream
As you already know our leoplurudon racers poop out their fat as they get fit, this fat is probably the most delicious, mouth-watering flavour you will ever taste. It is very popular but it can only be bought by the professional leoplurudon trainers who sell this fat to make this dessert. This fat is preserved in a freezer mixed with milk.
